As might have been expected, Feynman's book on statistical mechanics is unconventional in both its presentation and its contents. Pitched at graduate level, the emphasis is on calculating techniques, and the sterile discussions indulged in by most authors of competing texts concerning ergodic theory, ensembles or information theory as a basis for statistical mechanics are just omitted.
