The development of mobile wireless technologies hasgenerated a considerable amount of excitement amongpractitioners and academics because it results in shifting theacademic environment from traditional settings to mobilelearning (m-learning) settings. Increasing numbers ofinstitutions of higher education offer courses using mobilewireless technologies as alternative teaching and learningtools. However, regardless of such interests in mobilewireless technologies in higher education, there is lack ofacademic research on the use of mobile wireless technologiesin the higher education setting. The purpose of this article isto examine current information on mobile wireless technolo-gies and answer three crucial questions such as (a) Whattypes of mobile wireless technologies are currently beingused in higher education? (b) How do mobile wirelesstechnologies access to network resources? (c) What are thebenefits of mobile wireless technologies in higher education?Without understanding of these issues, it is virtuallyimpossible to study any subject of mobile wireless technolo-gies in higher education.
